The three acres along US 17 and on Senate Rd is best suited for a convenience store with additional services. Entrance to the site will be from US 17 with a turn lane anticipated into the site, and an entrance on Senate or 144th St. Suggestions from local residents, regarding the site, request a fuel and food venue at this location. County officials have pledge approval as rapidly as they can permit. There is a noticeable need for services. At the present time there are no significant food stops (and no fuel) in the 22 mile corridor from Cleveland (adjacent to I-75) and Arcadia. The subject site is approximately two miles from the Walmart Distribution Center. There are 800 employees at the center, working 24 hours a day, with no fuel or food available without a six mile drive and return. Approximately 1,200 trucks a day leave or enter the Walmart DC. Only a minor percentage of trucks, those within the Walmart fleet, are permitted to fuel at their center.
