Description

Located near the intersection of Nevada and Fountain, The Lowell School was the first elementary school in Colorado Springs. The south half was constructed in 1891 and the north half was added in 1901. It was closed and boarded up in 1980. The Housing Authority purchased it and completely renovated it in 2000-2001 and now occupies the entire second floor. Concepts West Architecture and CWA/ITU Negotiated Pension Plan occupy the majority of the first floor.
